College student will wear the 3 Lions with Pride

A Newcastle-under-Lyme College student has been selected to represent England as part of the England Colleges Football Squad. Josh Brown who is part of the TEAM:NULC Football Academy, and is studying for a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science progressed through 4 rounds of trials to get selected for the 22 man squad.

The Men's squad as of yet do not have a confirmed training camp but the first game will be against Australia on 31st January at Solihull Moors FC (KO:3pm).

Josh was delighted with his selection and commented "I cant believe that I got selected but I did think the trials went well. Its an honour to wear the England shirt and I will work as hard as I can to play as much as I can."

The Football Academy Co-ordinator, Dave Sutton said "This selection is a testament to Josh's hard work and dedication, and it reflects well on the college's Football development programme that we are now getting students selected for national sides.

Josh's inclusion closely follows the success of Ami Pickerill who was selected for the national squad in Netball, and Dave Meakin for Rugby.
