NULC Netball Academy Enjoys Success

The College's Netball Academy is so far enjoying a very successful season. They remain unbeaten in the West Midlands Performance League and currently sit top of the table. The cup has also been a success as the team has now reached the quarter-finals of the British Colleges Sport National Cup.

For any information on joining the Netball Academy, please contact Trevor Humphreys on 01782 254269.

Newcastle College in Partnership with Newcastle Town Football Club

The College has strengthened its already close tie in with Newcastle Town Football Club by jointly applying to join the Football Conference Youth Alliance League for the 2011/2012 season. The team will play under the Newcastle Town banner but will actually be the College First team made up of Newcastle College students. The team will play all its home matches at the Lyme Valley Stadium on a Wednesday afternoon and will be competing against sides such as Birmingham City, FC Manchester and Halifax Town.

The decision to enter a team in this highly competitive league reflects the increase in both the standard and the number of footballers who are involved with the Colleges Football Development Centre since relocation in January 2010 and will further encourage the Colleges attempts to attract the best young sports people in the area to study at NULC.
