Yesterday was again another extremely good day that further cemented Newcastle-under-Lyme College’s reputation as one of the top sports colleges in the region. At the regional championships the men’s Volleyball squad were again crowned West Midlands Champions. They will be joined at the National Championships by 3 female and 1 male cross country runners, 2 male and 2 female swimmers and the ladies football squad from last week.
Also history was made as our Ladies Basketball squad had their first ever game against St John Fisher. Although they lost it was great to see so many girls competing for the college in a new sport.

Performance of the week
The performance of the week has to go to the Men’s Volleyball squad who made a great start to the defence of their National Title from last year by winning the West Midlands Regional Championship. Well done to all the players and staff.
The biggest performance has to go to the college itself yesterday though as over 100 students competed for the college in a range of sports. Well done to all!!!
