Men's Basketball Academy- Bath here we come!!!

NULC Men’s Basketball Team travelled to Worcester on Wednesday to take part in the West Midlands Regional Basketball Tournament. NULC would dominate from the start as they would set the tone for the day as they beat Glo...ucester in the first game of the tournament 20-1.

NULC would play 6 games on the day and would dominate all six games.

Castle did hit a bump in the road in the semi final against Gloucester but still found a way to win the game as Tyler Johnson would nail two huge three pointers to seal the victory 16-9.

On this long day of basketball everyone had been anticipating the match between NULC vs Birmingham Mets in the final, but the Birmingham team feel short in the semi final game against Sandwell College.

NULC would go on to dominate Sandwell College in the championship game and book their first ever trip to Bath to represent the West Midlands Region.

Coach Jamison would have this to say,” The team set a goal at the beginning of the season to win The West Midlands Regional Tournament. The guys worked their tails off to achieve this goal and they now understand that hard work does pay off.

They will now go on to compete for the West Midlands at the National Championships which take place at Bath University in March 2015.

NULC Volleyball Academy Students compete on the international level

England national junior men and women volleyball squads, including NuLC Academy pair Rosie Barley and Rich James, travel to Denmark to compete in the 2014 NEVZA U19 championships. The competition is taking place in Billund, Denmark from 14^th – 16^th October.

NEVZA (which means, Northern European Volleyball Zonal Association) is a competition for northern European nations, which consists of Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Faroe Islands, England and Greenland.

This year’s competition sees England men and women squads take on sides from: Sweden, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Norway & Iceland.

The England Junior women are drawn in Pool B of the women’s competition, where they will face Norway and Sweden, England’s men are drawn in Pool A of the men’s competition and will take on Norway and Iceland.

Both squads are returning to Billund after competing in the competition last year, the men’s squad finishing 4^th in 2013 and the girls finishing 6^th.

TEAM NULC: Performance of the week

This weeks Team NULC performance of the week goes to the Men's Category Four Football team, who saw them host Staffordshire University in their latest fixture. Well done to all involved it was a great game and excellent team effort all round. A thoroughly deserved 2-0 win, well done lads.

This weeks TEAM:NULC - Performance of the Week goes to the Rugby team for an impressive victory away at Stafford Grammar.

The team won the game 31 - 3 and was a fantastic all round effort by everyone involved. The team are having a great start to this season winning all their current fixtures, keep up the hard work, well done and good luck in the next game.
