NULC Men’s Basketball Team
travelled to Worcester on Wednesday to take part in the West Midlands Regional
Basketball Tournament. NULC would dominate from the start as they would set the
tone for the day as they beat Glo...ucester in the first game of the tournament
20-1.
NULC would play 6 games on the day and would dominate all six games.
Castle did hit a bump in the road in the semi final against Gloucester but
still found a way to win the game as Tyler Johnson would nail two huge three
pointers to seal the victory 16-9.
On this long day of basketball everyone had
been anticipating the match between NULC vs Birmingham Mets in the final, but
the Birmingham team feel short in the semi final game against Sandwell College.
NULC would go on to dominate Sandwell College in the championship game and book
their first ever trip to Bath to represent the West Midlands Region.
Coach Jamison would have this to say,” The team set a goal at the beginning of
the season to win The West Midlands Regional Tournament. The guys worked their
tails off to achieve this goal and they now understand that hard work does pay
off.
They will now go on to compete for the West Midlands at the National Championships which take place at Bath University in March 2015.
