College Young Ambassadors trained and ready to go

Newcastle-under-Lyme College have 4 newly trained Young Ambassadors that are trained and ready to develop the Olympics ideals within college.

Ross Thompson, Bethany Wragg, Jamie Perry and Sam Botham attended a 1 day training event at the Ricoh Arena on the 1st December. The event was held by the Youth Sports Trust and the 4 students learnt how to develop activities and events within college to promote the Olympics.

The Young Ambassador movement commenced in 2006 following London’s successful Olympic bid where Lord Coe promised the UK would use the power of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to inspire millions of young people to become involved in sport.

The role of a Young Ambassador involves increasing participation in school sport and PE, spreading the word of the Olympic and Paralympic Values – respect, friendship, personal excellence, courage, determination, inspiration and equality – and promoting the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
