On the 7th of February 2011 57 students represented the college at the British Colleges Sport (BCS) regional qualification tournament at Lilleshall National Sports Centre. This was a record number of students to represent the college at these games and is a testament to the emphasis that the college places on sport. The students competed in a number of sports such as Badminton, Squash, Table Tennis, Cross Country and Volleyball.
All the students competed extremely well and made the college proud with their commitment, attitude and sportsmanship. There were a number of major successes of the day as 13 progressed to the national tournament at Bath University
The following students will be competing for the West Midlands team at the National Championships:
- Roxanna Keshavarz- Squash
- Natalie Slater- Table Tennis
- Naomi Yates and Lauren Harrison- Trampoline
- Sam Edwards- Swimming
- Sammey-Jo Daley Davies, Hannah Jones, Marie Oakley, Paige Machin, Steph Crowley, Georgina Holmes- Women’s Cross Country
- Tom Guy- Men’s Cross Country
This event marked the end of a successful autumn/winter regional tournaments programme for the college and demonstrates the college’s commitment to becoming one of the top sports institutions within the West Midlands .
