NULC students become STARS

A number of Newcastle-under-Lyme College (NULC) students have been selected for a prestigious squad of athletes called the STARS programme.

The aim of the STARS programme is to form a group of elite performers in the North Staffordshire area who can join together to discuss their experiences and receive help from international athletes in coping with the demands of training whilst in full time education.

The selected students attended a launch evening on Wednesday 5 October at Fenton 6th Form College. The evening consisted of an introduction to the programme and workshops were delivered by former England and Great Britain athletes.

A total of 18 NULC students were chosen from a range of sports such as Football, Athletics, Volleyball and Canoeing, and all study full-time at the on a variety of courses.

The inclusion of these students further demonstrates NULC’s commitment to sporting excellence which now sees it ranked as one of the top college’s in the West Midlands.
